Two SFW employees received awards for their contributions to the agency
GREENSBORO, NC — Sales Factory presented two employees with the first annual Golden Dust Buster Award and the Golden Apple Award.
The Golden Dustbuster Award honors George King, Founder of Sales Factory and father of current CEO, Ged King. George King worked as a marketing executive at Black & Decker and famous for being on the team that invented the iconic Dustbuster™. King listened to consumer needs to invent the product.
The Golden Dustbuster Award honored an outstanding, hardworking, determined, and innovative individual. Drew Harrison, Sales Factory’s Associate Creative Director/Art Director, received this award for his creative work on Sales Factory clients.
“When I was looking for a job, I presented my portfolio to a lot of big-name companies in New York,” said Harrison. “They actually didn’t like any of my work and suggested I aim for smaller clients. From then on, I decided to start working on the 'boring clients'-- clients that others didn’t consider fun or exciting. My mission was to turn the “uncool” brands into cool ones.”
Harrison makes clients in caulk, glue, and shower door categories from mundane and unappreciated to dynamic and bold.
The second Sales Factory Award, Golden Apple Award, honors Ged’s mother, Lynn H. King. Lynn King was a teacher, a leader, and a woman who got things done. Account Supervisor, Chelsea Higgins, earned the Golden Apple Award. Higgins received this award for her unquenchable thirst for learning.
Higgins served as a key leader on the Channellock, Inc. account and now leads her own team. She manages accounts like Johns Manville and GE (Momentive) Sealants & Adhesives.
Higgins says, "Hearing Ged and Matt talk about their mother, she sounds like she was such an incredible woman. I was beyond shocked and honored to receive something named after her."
